JUSTICE is essential to the survival and flourishing of any civilization. The words of God and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم remind us of the centrality of justice in our lives and our societies. Injustice (ẓulm) is condemned repeatedly in the Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. How are we to confront injustices in our personal lives, our communities and our societies? In an age of widespread injustices against the weak, the vulnerable and the dispossessed, how does Islam teach us to respond?
This unique commentary on forty hadith narrated from the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم explores Islamic teachings regarding social justice. It covers a wide variety of topics ranging from the environment, racism, family relations, the rights of the elderly, the disabled, and humanity more generally. This book will take you on a journey through Islam’s rich heritage and the guidance it provides us to confront injustices in our societies today.

Al Qur'an Thematic Revelations on Truth & Falsehood
Regular price Rs.2,700.00“As Muslims we are commanded by Allah to constantly be reading and reflecting from the verses of the Quran. However, at times when we aren’t native to the Arabic language, we can feel discouraged from not understanding the themes presented. This has now been made a lot easier and thought provoking with this beautiful effort in front of you. Br. Hasan has done all the legwork of categorizing the verses in the Quran into underlying themes of truth and falsehood. This gives us a strong understanding of what the verse is communicating without the reader needing to be well versed in Arabic. This book will suffice in familiarizing a reader with the main concepts of Islam and what Allah is actually saying. With chapter summaries at the beginning of each theme and the references for all the verses, this is a must have in every Muslim’s life. It will be useful to use as an encyclopedic work to look up all the verses under different concepts easily and will lead you to conclusions maybe otherwise devoid of. There have been many blessed and amazing efforts of trying to make the meanings of the Quran more accessible to everyone, and this by far is one of the best and most useful works I have come across”.

Contemporary Approaches to The Quran and Sunnah
Regular price Rs.1,200.00Publisher: The International Institute of Islamic Thought
Author: Mahmoud Ayoub
Dimensions: 5.5 x 8.5
Pages: 244
THE QUR’AN AND SUNNAH are the two primary sources of Muslim faith, life, law and morality. The Qur’an is for Muslims the foundation of their faith and the Sunnah is the framework of their morality. Together they constitute the two sources of the law (ShariꜤah) of God, a guide to prosperity and happiness in this life and to the bliss of the hereafter. Although the Qur’an and Sunnah are materially and formally two independent sources, they are inextricably bound in a dynamic relationship. The rulings and precepts (ahkam) of the Qur’an constitute the law (sharꜤ) of God. They are supplemented by the precepts of the authentic Sunnah, which possess authority second only to the precepts of the Qur’an. The Qur’an commands Muslims, “Whatever the Messenger gives you, that you must take, and whatever he forbids you, you must desist therefrom…” (59:7)
In answer to this need, IIIT convened an annual Summer School for scholars to study the Qur’an and Sunnah. The eleven papers included in this volume constitute the proceedings of the first Summer Institute, 2008. The essays making up the collection are focused discussions, and comprised of diverse writings on significant subjects relating to the Qur’an and the Sunnah, of common and intellectual interest as well as relevancy.

Imam Al-Shatibi’s Theory of the Higher Objectives and Intents of Islamic Law
Regular price Rs.4,900.00Publisher: Kube Publishing
Author: Ahmad Al-Raysuni
Dimensions: 5.7 x 9
Pages: 480
With the end of the early Islamic period, Muslim scholars came to sense that a rift had begun to emerge between the teachings and principles of Islam and Muslims daily reality and practices. The most important means by which scholars sought to restore the intimate contact between Muslims and the Quran was to study the objectives of Islam, the causes behind Islamic legal rulings and the intentions and goals underlying the Shariah, or Islamic law. They made it clear that every legal ruling in Islam was a function which it performs, an aim which it realizes, a cause , to be explicit or implicit, and an intention which it seeks to fulfill, and to all of this in order to realize benefit to human beings or to ward off harm or corruption. They showed how these intentions, and higher objectives might at times be contained explicitly in the texts of the Quran and the sunnah, while at other times, scholars might bring them to the light by means of independent reasoning based on their understanding of the Quran and the sunnah within a framework of time and space.

Genuine understanding of Islam, the religion, will reveal that Islam is a later moment of that very consciousness which produced Judaism and Christianity, that Islam, the culture, is as much a source of the Western civilization of the present millennium as classical Greece and Rome, that Islam’s anti-clericalism made it the first “Protestant” revolution, that its rationalism made it the first “Enlightenment”, that its pragmatism made it the first “technocracy”, and that its law of war and peace made it the first “United Nations”.
About the Author
Professor Ismail Raji al Faruqi, Palestinian-American philosopher, visionary, and an authority in comparative religion, was one of the foremost Muslim scholars of the 20th century. In this study he presents the meaning and message of Islam to the wider world community. Key elements of the faith are summarized and explained in an overall theme of seven parts consisting of 21 chapters. Yet the chapters represent far more than a simple description of Muslim peoples and orthodox practice. Al Faruqi was a great thinker, formidable in logic, and relished intellectual engagement on every level, particularly when it came to Islam and other faiths. And it is this unique reasoning process that is reflected in this work, al Faruqi signature contribution, which not only expounds on Islam as spiritual faith and action, but also on Islam the great experience.

Allāh called Sūrah Yūsuf the ‘Best of All Stories,’ which He revealed in the Qur’ān, the best of all Revelations, to the best of all prophets, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The story was revealed to lift his spirits at a time when his sufferings and worries had mounted. This was a time when he had gone through at least a decade of ridicule and rejection in Makkah, a time when he lost his beloved wife and partner, Khadījah, a time when he had lost his dear uncle, Abū Ṭālib.
The Prophet Yūsuf lived thousands of years ago, but time has not diminished his story’s relevance. It is a tale of love, passion, betrayal, and forgiveness, and it has something to teach us, at every stage of our lives. It imparts Divine wisdom wrapped in unparalleled eloquence. It is a timeless story that will continue to soothe our souls during times of hardship and reignite our trust in our Lord.

Lessons from Surah Al-Kahf

Through four beautiful narratives (the People of the Cave; the Man with Two Gardens; Mūsā and Khiḍr; and Dhū al-Qarnayn), this Surah not only summarizes the whole religion of Islam, but also teaches a number of important lessons. Beginning with the role and function of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, it goes on to highlight the need for Muslims to show genuine concern for humanity at large.
The importance of genuine knowledge, and the necessity to take it only from qualified teachers who have taqwā, is also highlighted – showing that the highest form of knowledge is that which is acquired through God-consciousness and utter submission to the will of Allah.
The Surah also indicates that believers must always strive against their egos and attribute nothing of the blessings and bounties they possess to their egos or knowhow. One must always remember that Allah is the Master of the whole universe and everything that happens in it is under His control, no matter how good, bad or difficult it might appear.
